My Sony TRV19 is completely dead! I took it apart to remove some sand inside - but I forgot to take out the battery!

When I reinserted the front panel - nothing worked! When I insert the battery the LCD turns white - nothing else happens. Doesn't matter which mode it's in or if its turned off! The normal clicking sound (like a relay) when inserting the battery is gone. Is there anything to do? I guess its too expensive to repair?
