Hmm.. That sounds it will actually work. I have this model and it decided to give me the "condensation, operation paused" message on the morning of my wedding day after I decided not to hire a videographer. What a piece of garbage. I would never recommend JVC camcorders to anyone. I wish I would have read up on them a little bit more before purchasing it. I bought it two years ago, and it worked for about a year or year and a half. It was still on warranty so I just sent it in to be fixed... we'll see if it actually is fixed and whether or not it costs me an arm and a leg. Thanks for the tip, I'm going to try that if it happens again.
