Sony dcr-trv320 no longer works in iMovie

I have Sony dcr-trv320 and using one of the first flat screen iMacs, which I used to be able to import video and still images into iMovie 2. I have upgraded to the new version of iMovie HD and can no longer see the camera. I tried going back to the first version of iMovie but I can not get OS X 10.3 to run the old version. Any ideas out there? Thanks Bruce
