ps2 having problems reading some ps2 games

hey guys ive been having some problems with my ps2. Its having trouble reading my xenosaga disk but everything else like metal gear solid 3 sneak eater works just fine. It reads the xenosaga disk but for like secs then stops scanning it what could the problem?
