Re: ps2 wont play ps2 games

Patrick Jones Posted Apr 01, 2005, in response to:l dalglish

Your PS2 lense most likely needs to be cleaned- Not with one of those store bought disc- The laser lense has to be physically dusted cleaned. The PS2 games are encoded differently from PS1 and DVD encoding (almost identical encoding) They've done this to minimize illegal copying of the PS2 games. So your laser lense has to be cleaner than most. You can do it yourself if your very careful or you can take it to a television/computer or game console repair store to do it. It could cost anywhere from $55.00 - $75.00 dollars.
