Can't get my tape out of the camera...what do I need to do?

Some time back my JVC-GR-D30U stopped working. I don't have any warranty info for this camera, and really am not wanting to pay to have the thing repaired. My question is, is there any way for me to safely remove the tape from the bay of the camera? The camera no longer gets any power, so I need some sort of manual release. Can the camera be taken apart? As mentioned, I'm not concerned about the camera, but really need to get the tape out of the camera... Any help would be appreciated...
