It's crazy. I have to remove the battery, put the switch back to auto. Put the battery back and it's okay. Sometimes I have to end up cleaning the tape once I put the battery back. I still like it since it shoulder mounted and commands a lot of respect and seriousness amongst the crowd of tiny home palmcorders. I actually have a panasonic palmcorder for mostly DV playing/editing. I know this doesn't help but it works.
