I have a 5 year old Sony Trintron that suddenly died, I suspect the power board

rtfield Posted Mar 06, 2005

Cant believe I would still have been screwed if I bought the extended warranty. 6 months after it would hve expired, my tv died.

I have the KV-32S40 model, bought in May of 99. 4 months ago my picture went out, but I have plenty of sound. I found that if you pop the front panel, between the power and speaker area, that the picture comes back, until the wavy lines appear and scroll up, pop it again, and it seems fine. I usually have to baby the tv for about 15 minuted to get a the picture to stay with the front end pop. Then instead of powering down, I just flip it to tv-video then the tv is on, but not showing anything to keep me up. I just wish my kids do not play with the buttons or I would be fine. MY question is that I believe it is the power board, but cannot find much info on my model. Will the info from previous posts help out my model with the same 5 or so possible solutions? THanks for the help.
