How do I use this camera to transfer analog signal from VHS through the camera to my computer?

The camera says "Analog Input". I had assumed that if I attach the camera to the rca out of the VHS player that it could transfer the signal through firewire to my computer. This has been unsuccessful. Is this possible and how?
