I happened upon this web site, while I was searching for the meaning of E:61:10. The solution to the problem was so simple yet so barbaric. I almost didn't believe what I was reading. My only thought was "you want me to do what to my camera???!!!"

Let me tell you what!! IT WORKS!!! Thank you all for your posted support, it gave me the confidence to try "smacking" it myself. I had to do it a little diffrent though. I tried the plain old whacks-to no avail. The dreaded E6110 message was still taunting me.....So I pushed power ON and simultaneously gave it a square "whack' on my knee. VOILA NO MORE E6110 message. THANKS EVERYONE!
