I have a Sony Handycam CCD-TR93 that will not play back sound, it has video only.

I have a lot of family tapes that my wife and daughter like to watch but there is no audio. I no the tapes are ok. I've tried to plug headphones into the camera during playback but there is still no sound. Is this a problem for a repair shop or is there something I can do. Help and thanks. Johnny
