Need a Replacement LCD

I have a Pentax Optio 5Si that I purchased for $295 back in December. Unfortunately the LCD was shattered last week. A Pentax service center said that repair would not be covered under warranty and that it would cost approximately $195 (about $50 for the part and $145 for the labor) to fix. Does anyone know where I can purchase the part and how difficult the repair would be to attempt myself? Or, should I have an authorized dealer repair it or just take the loss and buy a new one (which I have now seen for $275)? Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
