TDK head cleaning cassette has rendered my JVC camera useless.

My JVC GR-DVL520U mini dv camera was giving messages that the heads needed to be cleaned. I purchased a TDK head cleaning tape (for 15.00 dollars) at radio shack and followed the directions exactly. They were: play tape 10 seconds and remove. Now my camera will not record or playback any of my mini-dv cassettes. I really need this to work soon as I do some ameteur taping of weddings and such.
