My New PC won't start..

Hey Guys...I'm putting together my first PC. I did all my research ( i think) and everything was compatible.. i put everyhing from the chip to the fans in and when i turn on the power supply and fire it up.. the Power supply lights up and the fans start to move for about .5 secons.. then shuts down... Any Idea's
