Sony Trinitron TV -

My ten year old son aquired (second hand) a beautiful 36 inch television for his room. It has a permanent base and shelving underneath, plays a great picture, and is in excellent condition. One problem... the sound doesnt play. Can anyone help me repair or have ideas of where problem might be manifested??? Its too large for me to get it in my car and take it to repair shop. Any advice would be helpful... Thanks
