This is a PAL VCR so I can't view a parts list. I've serviced NTSC versions and sometimes the cassette housing assy requires replacement. Is there a cassette stuck in the unit that won't eject. If so try to remove the cassette housing (4 screws), being very careful not to damage it. After removing the cassette housing try to operate it out of the unit to see if it is binding up. You'll need a cassette to do this. Feed the cassette in and the housing assy should take the cassette and feed it to the bottom of the housing. You'll have to open the plastic door on the cassette by applying pressure to the lid as the cassette is inserted. There is a gear on the bottom right side of the cassette housing that mates with a gear on the VCR deck. Maybe this gear is broken. Good luck

Hello, There is no cassette stuck in the unit. When I feed the cassette into the housing it does'nt take over. So I manually turn on a little wheel (right hand side of cassette housing)that feeds the tape to the bottom of the housing. When the tape has reached there the video recorder detects the tape and I can play the tape. I do the same when ejecting. manually turn a wheel so that the tape is fed out of the cassette housing. The cassette housing works smoothly. I think it is a switch or something that normally detects the tape being inserted into the cassette housing and than automatically feeds the tape to the bottom of the housing. Thanx for the reply.
