Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P3 ERROR E:61:00

I have a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P3 camera and haverecently gotten an error saying E:61:00 . Does anyone know what i should do aside from throw it at the wall a few times??? Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thank you in advance

  Hi! I had my dsc p3 camera repaired in a SONY Service center shop. I only paid 780pesos (about $14). The technician said it was a lens problem. He had to align it. I was told that if I had brought it later then they might have replaced the entire lens and that would be a bigger and much more expensive problem!

    Hi. I have a DSC-P1 that is giving the same error E:61:00. The Sony Repair Service is charging $175 just for me to send it in!! I don't want to part with it, but I don't know what to do. Any advice would be appreciated.

      oh, maybe the damage is really big thats why it cost that much or maybe the labor cost is cheaper in our place. i have read the manual and it said only a repair service can do it. Its either you have your camera fixed or you could buy a new one. I had my camera fixed and im satisfied with the outcome. Its as good as new.
