How do you stop the power from shutting down after 5 minutes?

I need to leave the camera (JVC GR-DVM-70) on standby mode for long periods of time and then record at the spur of the moment. Problem is, after 5 minutes in standby mode, it automatically powers down, and it takes a little time to get it back up and ready (have to close LCD Screen and re-open). Is there any way to shut off this automatic power shut-down?
