Lens of DSC P 52

Hi, I had got a DSC P 52 Cyber shot SOny digicam from US 1.5 yrs back. One day suddenly the LCD showed hazy view. I showed it to the Sony service center and they said the Lens has gone and will have to be replaced. They said it will take INR 5500 and one month to procure. Can u advise me that does the lens cost this high and is it worth changing it or is there any exchange offer or what is the best solution to this issue. Or whr can i get it cheap. Pls advise asap.
