Error E:61:10 on Sony DCR-TRV 50E

I am getting this error whenever I switch to camera mode. This is happening for the last six months. After switching off and on for a dozen times this error goes and camera works normally. Can anyone suggest a solution?

I was laughing about your comment and I jokingly tapped the camera lightly on the coffee table and poof, it worked liked new. I'm in awe. Amazing. Thanks.

Did you ever figure it out because I am having the exact same problem and the camera place wants $171 to fix it. Do you have any suggestions??
