Please help with E06 code UNIT IN SAFEGUARD MODE REMOVE AND REATTACH BATTERY

I already did what the manual says to do and what the screen on the camcorder is telling me to do...Anyone think this happened because I dropped it the other day? I mean when I dropped it, it was inside the leather case I bought for it and it doesn't look like there was any damages made to it..not only is it not letting me record but it is also ruining the tapes I pt inside of it..it's like jamming up or something..any suggestions?
