Broadcast Quality?

I want to make broadcast quality TV documentaries. Im currently using the Canon XM2/Gm2 which I dont think is good enough for the job. Im thinking of upgrading to the Canon Xl1s. Is this good enough quality for this type of work or does anyone have any suggestions in this regard? Thanks
