I want to connect my soundcard to two surround sound devices. I want to use a 6PDT switch to select the receiver of the sound.
Sound card has three 3.5mm sockets. Speakers have three 3.5mm sockets and surround sound headphones have three 3.5mm plugs.
What I want to know is where ground is on the 3.5mm plugs. Is it correct to have ground connected to all devices.
I will use nine 3.5mm sockets, wire to connect these up, should this be shielded?, and a switch.
Does anyone know any good references for working with 3.5mm sockets, how to wire and where ground is.
Thanks in advance,
Rob.
