Buy a new one. why make yourself crazy trying to fix it when you can just buy a new one. You can get a decent one for 20-30 bucks now. It doesnt fix the vcr but at least you'll have peace of mind. Beside you can always fix the possessed vcr another day. It never hurts to have 2 vcr's either.
