Hi, I live in buenos aires, argentina, i had that E:61:00 error on my sony DSC-S30 display. i thouhgt of dropping the camera, but instead i read the great solution for this problem in http://www.fewin.com/sony/sony.htm AND IT WORKS!!!, and to tell you the truth, i didnt believe at the first time it would work!! but its true!! and i avoid taking the camera to a sony service center saving many bucks!! thanks to the internet!!

Mexico, pues yo tambien intente todo, lo de los 2 cm, forzar el lente con la mano, y algunos de los tips que escriben, y nada funciono, ya un poco resignado pense que de cualquier forma no funcionaria, asi que decidi darle un golpe poco fuerte contra el suelo y !!oh sorpresa!!!! funciona como antes. Gracias por los tips

GRACIAS !!! Mi Sony es una DSC-S60 que compré en 2005 con la que llevo sacadas casi 6 mil fotos, no había tenido problemas hasta ahora en el que me salió el E:61:00. La solución """NOOOOO""" ES ARROJARLA CONTRA LA MENSA como puso alguno. Es: 1) insistir hasta que la cámara se apague con el lente adentro. 2) Luego encenderla (en modo foto automatica -camarita verde-) sosteniendola con fuerza con el lente para abajo a unos 2 cm de la mesa de modo que cuando este intente salir choque contra esta y no pueda extenderse por completo, entonces va a volver para atrás e intentar salir de nuevo, en ese momento la tienen que apuntar para arriba para que pueda salir y listo... problema solucionado.

hola a todos, tengo una T50, y me salio el mismo E 61:00, tardaba en encender y no hacia foco, despues de ir a un ponja del servicio de sony y me dijera $ 900 para empezar, decidi buscar en google y lei como 20 comentarios, santo remedio, confieso que me costo aceptar tirarla de 20 cn de alto, pero empece con un golpecito, nada, uno un poco mas fuerte y se borro el error, la vuelvo a encender y aparecio de nuevo el E 61:00; mezcla de odio y resignacion me decidi a tirarla de los 20 cm recomendados y la deje caer, la encendi y hace una semana que anda perfecto, no lo podia creer pero funciono.

Praise the Lord..!!! Thanks to you guys, my Sony DSC-P120 is now alive again. I used the "dropping method". Held the cvamera about 25 cm above my wooden desk and dropped it on the bottom....Hey Presto...Its now working perfectly.

I have the CCD-TRV16 camera and it had the E:61:00 error after lending it to a friend. Go figure... Anyways, I tried starting the camera looking down at a surface with no luck. I then tried looking up with the camera and adjusted the zoom over the full range and it started working fine. If it works for me it may work for others...
