No picture in Viewfinder/LCD Display

Came back home last night from vacation at my parents and I tried reviewing the tape. Suddenly nothing was showing on the screen or in the viewfinder. I get a blue screen. No sound either. Strange. I tried cleaning it. Still no success. I tired plugging it into the TV. Still nothing. Did I hit a button on accident? Can anyone give me some advice or suggestions if they understand what I've just discribed? Thank you.
