7 yr old Sony TV died

Jerry Hobson Posted Sep 24, 2004

The man at our local landfill says that 80% of TVs brought in to dump are newer Sonys with power supply problems that cannot be permanently fixed.

My 7 yr old Sony TV died. It will cost $250 to fix. The man at our local landfill says that 80 percent of TVs brought in to dump are newer Sonys with power supply problems that cannot be permanently fixed. My 1987 RCA TV and my 1989 Magnavox TV are still working great. I use an RF modulator ($20 item from Radio Shack) to run my DVD player with the older TVs. Never, never, never, never again will I buy anything from Sony.
