My HR-S9500U VCR turns off immediately after pressing the power buttom and the front display keeps flashing "Auto". I inserted and ejected a tape but the same thing happens.

Did you get a fix for this problem -- our same model just started doing this. I assumed it was a confused remote but was unable to reset. Thanks for any info...
