Has anyone ever used the XL1S for tv broadcast?

Recently I produced a 40min documentary and offered it to a prominent Japanese tv station who after watching it told me, content, editing and subject were excellent Story was first class but they could not use it because it was shot on MINI DV and this was not good enough quality for Japan T.V.Has anyone else had such a problem? Has anyone ever used the XL1S for tv production? I was quite dissapointed as the whole reason I bought this camera was for its outstanding quality.
