DVX100 captures 24 frames per second, but the problem is, the frames have incorrect timing, esp. in NTSC version that records everything using 60 interlaced fields per second. That is the reason why fast motion makes this unpleasant impression, it's not because of 24p itself. In PAL it's not that bad since 24 is not far from 25 frames per second. Currently, no pro-sumer cameras are capturing the real 24fps and that's the unfortunate fact. Film cameras exposure 24 frames each second. NTSC and PAL camcorders record 30 and 25 respectively and only pretend they do 24p. For many people that's the way to go, but not for me. Btw, Canon USA has just announced XL2 :)
