jvc digital video camera problem

jules Posted Jul 07, 2004

exposure malfunction

i've had my jvc digital camcorder GR-DVL 160EK for two years and have not had any problems with it until recently. when the lens is pointed at anything brighter than shadow, the picture flickers rapidly as though the aperture is having trouble registering the brightness. i've tried resetting it but the fault remains. unfortunately it's out of warranty and i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for fixing it or if they have encountered similar problems. any advice will be appreciated. jules.

I have a JVC GR_DVL720 video camera and I cant capture any movies to my hard drive, I have OHCI compliant IEEE 1394 and I am using studio 8 and the cable that came with the camera. Have anyone else had this problem? Please help me if you can. Thanks

I would suggest hitting the camera in the space right behind the lens. That problem is usually caused by a CCD chip that has become loose or has somehow lost all of it's contact with the connectors that lead into the processor. It could be caused by moisture. I usually give my camera a little bang and it works fine.
