I'd appreciate thoughts as to why DVD's I burn are of such poor quality.
I'm new to digital video, and I have tried three DVD authoring products (Ulead, Roxio, and Pinnacle). With each, I can transfer a short video from tape or from the DV camera to produce a DVD. The project looks fine when I view it on the computer before burning, but after burning the images are very poor (lots of artifact, blurring, and a fog-like or steamy appearance to certain areas). This appearance is present regardless of whether I play the DVD back on the computer or on two different DVD players. I'm using a Toshiba laptop with built-in DVD/CD burner.
Thanks for any advice.
