JVC VCR Trouble

I have a JVC VCR Model # HR-A34U and the other day it just stopped responding. the power light stays on and i can't turn it off,by the switch or by remote only if i unplug it. when i insert a tape it plays but doesn't go FF or REW. when i pause it , it goes in slow motion can you help,and where can i get a service manual for it.
