Studio 8 performance

After having Studio 8 fail on my new computer ( Athelon AMD 2.4 Ghz-120 Hard drive - NVIDIA FX 5200 video card - Soyo dragon DT600 motherboard w/ 1394 support ),I tried it on an older computer. Computer specs: 2.2 Ghz P4 / 512 Mb ram / dual 80 hard drives / Radon 7500 video card / Soyo dragon ultra 400 motherboard & comp USA firewire (1394). As much as I hate to say this - it works perfectly ( version 8.10 ). I have made 5 DVDs from a DV Cannon ZR60 using 1394 capture. No problems capturing, no problems rendering and all of the DVDs are fine. Go Figure. I am not going to upgrade from 8.10 just in case.Render time is about the same as capture time- slow but usable. The system resource monitor shows >97% use during rendering.
