HomeCassette trouble Recently a tape jammed in my TRV 900E. The error message read C:31:40. I followed instructions and removed the tape, turned off the camera removed the tape inserted another tape and restarted the camera. The camera won't go and makes a faint whirring noise. I am going to clean the camera and was wondering if anyone had any tips. Chris

I have tried cleaning the camera. I took the camera into Sony who quoted me nearly $1000.00 to fix the problem.Apparently they need to replace the drum DEH-11BJ-DCR-WX2000E, who knows? Same error on mine. Now the thing won't retract after I push it shut. Will do it fine with a cassette with the tape broken or if there is not cassette at all. You need to clean the camera with a Sony DVM12CL MiniDV cleaning cassette. You probably got moisture on the tape head or residue from a bad tape. It should be fine after cleaning |
