Sony Mavica C 13:01 error ...any advice ?

Patrick Cambre Posted Apr 06, 2004

Any help please on a Mavica floppy disk drive

Hello all, My brother let his grand-daughter use his Mavica Floppy Disk camera...as I am not sure what model it is...and when his grand-daughter gave it back to him, she said she could not take out the last floppy she put in the unit. So my brother strive to get it out...buy I am not sure if you used a crowbar...or just his hand to get it unstuck and get it back out of the unit. But ever since then, he has been getting a C 13:01 error. He said he tried this... He tried formatting the floppy on his computer, but the camera would not accept it. Then he tried to use the camera itself and see if he could format it...well, the camera did seem to do its' regular formatting job...but when he came time to take a picture...there is no picture ?????? Any help in telling me what might have happened, as I do not believe he is willing to spend $150 to get a new drive and service. I am an RF Hobbiest...and deal with PCB's and circuitries. If there is any help you can give me on just what the culprit could be...I am more than willing to try that for him...as he uses his camera on his job...I think because the floppy camera is more of a convinence to him...then his regular film camera. I want to thank each and everyone who reads my concern. Again, it was a pleasure to have someone read my post! Sincerely, Patrick Cambre
