What's the difference between a message idea and message body?

Hi, this is my first time on this website. I have a Sony tape deck with removable faceplate. I was wondering, if my faceplate was stolen, do I have to find the exact same original model for it to fit the existing tape deck indash, or does Sony offer compatible faceplates that also would work.
