I've got the error too. but use format command can fix the problem.
Use this command on W2K machine:
1. Open DOS command prompt on w2k or press start->run and input "cmd"
2. type format /FS:FAT /A:4096
Please note that the /A option is very important.

plz help i brought a 2gb memory stick pro for my digital camera but it keeps sayin c:13:01 formatt error n i dont understand what you mean by the letter ?

that command doesnt work it says something parameter is missing ?
