How do you centre the screen on ps2?

I have just purchased Rainbow six 3 for ps2 and i using a RGB scart connection. When I play the game there is a black line down the right hand side of the screen, however I usally use the the centre screen function on most games which takes it away. However Rainbow six 3 does not have a centre screen function. Is there other way to centre the screen, through the ps2 browser of something? Thanks
