"DISC ERROR" message

When I try to record on a blank DVD+R disc, I keep getthing the "DISC ERROR". I don't know what is causing this as I have tried several different brands of blank DVDs and it does the same thing to all of them. Even some blank disc out of a pack that I have already had successful recording on previous disc. I have used the recorder to record several DVDs and never had this problem before.
