Sony 9850 error code 2

Hi, I've misplaced my Sony "error code card" Can anyone tell me what "error 2" means? The tape plays fine, (went approximately 24 mins), then shutoff, with an "error 2" message. We got it going, but then, within about 5 mins, with a different tape, it did the same thing. Look forward to a response! Sincerely, Jim
