Music Videos (How)

Can anyone tell me and easy way or how to sync video with music. I'm using MGI videoWave and it's hard to get synced up. I dont have the number line, but if I did, how does it work and can I still sync up without it? I don't want videos to look like a Godzilla movie, though I love them. Let me tell you how I'm doing it. I record video using the music. Then transfer to PC. Then rip audio to my pc and cut and edit, trying to make sure that the cuts and edits are together with my audio. Some times I be right on it but it's sooooooooooo hard. Heeeelp!!! There has got to be an easier way.
