It's really pretty simple. The delegation buttons determine the function you wish to perform. The AUX buttons match an input channel to use with the selected function. For example, to use CCR (color correction) you must first press CCR in the delegation row and then the AUX button that matches the video channel you wish to correct. We have a tape deck on channel 6. To change the color of the video coming from the tape deck I would press the CCR delegation button and the AUX button above the video input button 6. I can then change the color of the video on input 6.

I'm gradually getting the pieces put together. Now that I know that the AUX buttons do correspond to the other input buses, the rest is easy to figure out. Thanks for your info. For some reason, I had gotten the impression the AUX buttons were used as memory storage locations.
I just learned that there is a User Guide for the DFS700 that was not delivered by the installing vendor.
In the meantime, I am trying to figure out how to preview a non-dsk key. Any tips will be welcome.
