Sony stOpped making this part in Nov.2003

I am a Consumer Protection InvestigatOr. I have an elderly couple who purchased a Sony Trinitron Vega 2 years ago. They have no warranty. They have been advised by a Sears service tecnician this part has gone bad. Sears won't replace the TV and Sony will not help. They need this part inorder to have the TV repired. The model # on the TV is:KV32FV27. Can you help?
