i need help on sony dvd player model S300

I HAVE A DVD PLAYER S300 AND IT WAS BIGINING TO PLAY FOR JUST A SHORT TIME THEN IT STOPS OR STRUGGLE TO READ AND JACKING AS IF THE CD IS GOT SRATCHES. I HAVE BEEN REPAIRING COMPUTER CD ROMS AND I THOUGHT OF ADJUSTING THE FOCUS PRESET LOCATED UNDER THE LESER HEAD IT WORKED AND I ACCIDENTALY LOST THE POSITION. NOW IT JUST FLASHES the beam and the lense moves up and down then it spins the cd then it stops diplaying a message no cd. so i think the preset is damaged. what should i do to get it up and running again
