bought a ps2 with a messiah 2 chip now wont play copied games and dvd's in colour

bought a ps2 last year with a messiah 2 chip,been working fine up to a month ago when most of the copied games and dvd's now only play in black and white.was told it could possibly be the lead but was working fine before.The lead I got is the three pinned that connects into a scart block.Plays all originals no bother.anyone have any ideas?
