Crappy Sony DSC-P51 Digital Camera--- It won't take pictures!

I purchased a Sony DSC-P51 about a year or so ago. Now the damn thing don't work. It says, "turn the power off and on again" on the LCD screen when in the picture mode. I have reset it many times per "tech support" and it still doesn't work. The shutter won't open, but I can open it wiht my hands, but it close right away. PLEASE HELP!
