Camcoder or?

I have not purchased any movie eqpt in ages...I need help...I want to buy the smallest digital video camera with a powerful zoom. I am not interested in still pics. My subjects will be on the beach, but I cannot come too close to them, therefore I need a very powerful zoom lens. They should not see my camera, therefore it should be very small. Please advise.
