Sony returns

Just wondering if anyone has any experience returning higher end items with Sony. Last week I bought a DVW-709WS (digital betacam camera) only to realize it doesn't come with extended clear scan which I need because I'll be shooting in Europe. I need to now switch it for a DVW-790WS. I've been warned by the distributor that Sony may hit me with a 15% restocking charge, plus a possible 5% service fee. Does anyone have any experience with this? The camera is in the opened box, never used, never even loaded in a tape. It was purchased last week, Thursday 11/6/03. Any info. or recommendations would be very helpful. Urgency is the main factor here. Thanks. John
