Our Trinitron turns itself on in the middle of every night. I have tried everything...timer is not set any ideas?

MY SONY IS TURNING ITSELF OFF AFTER THE SCREEN TURNS BLUE WITH WHITE LINES GOING IN CIRCLES. THIS HAPPENS AT LEAST 1O TIMES A DAY. THE 3 YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY IS UP AND I HAVEN'TLOOKED UP THE MODEL NUMBER YET. I FOUND YOU ON THE FIRST TRY. POWER SURGE?? HELP.......

Hi, I am having a similiar problem. My tv will not turn on at all with the remote, and if I turn it on with the power button it will just cycle through on/off about 10 times. We have ours connected to a power surge cord. So I am under the impression that we were protected from surges. Let me know what you find out. This tv cost of a small fortune, and I really an not currently in the position to purchase a new one. Man this stinks! Thanks, Melinda
